I am going to redesign this soon. Minimal. Photos. Some writing. Really, though, I'm only going to write if I have anything meaningful to say � and more often than not, it'll be fiction. I haven't written anything in forever, and I miss it. Please note that "meaningful" does not necessarily mean whiny, ridunkulous pap. It just means it will have at least an inkling of substance and be more than a paragraph. Nonsensical blurbification will remain on my space � all hail Avogadro.

I think I'm going to abandon this site. I've kind of lost interest, and I really don't think anyone would mind. I'd like to change the format to that of a photo blog, but we'll see when that happens. I may pick this back up again sometime in the future, but I just feel like being a bit more private right now. If I have anything brief to say, I'll probably just post something to MySpace or figure out an appropriate section for it in any new site designs. So long for now, it's been swell.

It's great to be back home again—I really missed everyone. I need to get some people together back in Seattle to play poker and whatnot. This is mainly just to get a December post in for this year. Back to my vacation now.

This may not be something most people would think I'd ever say, but I just got done watching probably the greatest football game I've ever seen. I'm not a big fan, but I try not to miss Notre Dame play when I can catch them. The USC vs Notre Dame game today was crazy. I was practically screaming when Quinn got that touchdown to put the Irish back ahead, but nearly cried with that throw from Leinart to Jarrett—definitely the play that won the game. Too bad the Irish lost, but man, what a great game.

Really cool photography. I recommend this to anyone with a non-SLR camera (or go right ahead if you feel like tossing that hunk of money into the air). All you do is set the shutter speed to something slower (e.g. couple seconds), hit the shutter release, and toss that baby in the air. Great effect.

I don't know how many people saw this�I know for sure that this was never aired on the west coast. As the Washington Post said, this is why I love live tv. While I'm not a particularly big fan of Kanye's, I give him respect for saying things that I know many people in his situation may think but not have the courage to say. Lord knows it's the truth�W couldn't care less about these people or their suffering or anyone else's suffering. Bill Hicks once made a joke about not being human unless you're in his phone book. I think the statement from Bush would be "You're not human until you're a millionaire." The following transcript was taken from the Washington Post and the hurricane relief telethon held last night on NBC:

West and Mike Myers had been paired up to appear about halfway through the show. Their assignment: Take turns reading a script describing the breach in the levees around New Orleans.

Myers: The landscape of the city has changed dramatically, tragically and perhaps irreversibly. There is now over 25 feet of water where there was once city streets and thriving neighborhoods.

(Myers throws to West, who looked extremely nervous in his super-preppy designer rugby shirt and white pants, which is not like the arrogant West and which, in retrospect, should have been a tip-off.)

West: I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family, it says, "They're looting." You see a white family, it says, "They're looking for food." And, you know, it's been five days [waiting for federal help] because most of the people are black. And even for me to complain about it, I would be a hypocrite because I've tried to turn away from the TV because it's too hard to watch. I've even been shopping before even giving a donation, so now I'm calling my business manager right now to see what is the biggest amount I can give, and just to imagine if I was down there, and those are my people down there. So anybody out there that wants to do anything that we can help — with the way America is set up to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off, as slow as possible. I mean, the Red Cross is doing everything they can. We already realize a lot of people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way — and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us!

(West throws back to Myers, who is looking like a guy who stopped on the tarmac to tie his shoe and got hit in the back with the 8:30 to La Guardia.)

Myers: And subtle, but in many ways even more profoundly devastating, is the lasting damage to the survivors' will to rebuild and remain in the area. The destruction of the spirit of the people of southern Louisiana and Mississippi may end up being the most tragic loss of all.

(And, because Myers is apparently as dumb as his Alfalfa hair, he throws it back to West.)

West: George Bush doesn't care about black people!

(Back to Myers, now looking like the 8:30 to La Guardia turned around and caught him square between the eyes.)

Myers: Please call . . .

At which point someone at NBC News finally regained control of the joystick and cut over to Chris Tucker, who started right in with more scripted blah, blah, blah.
